See the tower. It was the Doppler RADAR. Obviously, the weatherman was unable to use it once the tornado hit. The actual globe of the RADAR was found miles away.The pile of lumber next to it? Bethel Church of Christ. There were 30-ish people in the basement of this church when the tornado went through.
It is rumored that the upside down truck belongs to a man who lives four miles from this site. It used to be Sunset Swim Club.
This is an entire neighborhood.
The trees have been torn apart. The bark has been stripped away, and they are half the size they once were.
This was a Southern Living community.
It may seem inappropriate that I took these pictures and put them on the Internet, but I felt it was important to let readers who do not live here see the aftermath not filtered by the media. This post will also serve as a reminder to me. I will not stand on my porch and look to see if a tornado is actually coming. Not anymore.
