There have been so many folks on Twitter and blogs I read who recommended The Help as a good read. I purchased a copy of it and read it the first couple of days we were on vacation. It was an absolutely wonderful book.
Last night Ellie, Laura, Elizabeth, and I went to the local movie theater to see the movie. I have to admit it; I thought the movie was even better than the book. Bryce Dallas Howard was PERFECT as Hilly Holbrook. Octavia Spencer was just about the funniest thing I have ever seen as Minny! "Eat my Shit!!" If you saw the movie, you know you laughed out loud when she said it! The four of us sat and watched the movie and stayed after the movie was over watching the credits as well. The whole theater sat through most of the credits as well. It was quiet except for the sound of sniffling and Kleenex packets.
