Crazy Humid Hair...

It has been crazy humid here lately! It's really not fun at all!! It's been so hot too!!! When the humidity is 87%, the air pretty much feels like soup. Layton's hair responds accordingly.

Woah...

I started tracking the statistics on my blog last May...It's been 14 months since I started...and there have been over 20,000 views of the ole blog since then. This may not seem like much to a lot of bloggers, but to me it's absolutely unreal that anyone would want to look at my drivel that many times.

So...

Thanks! I love the visits and comments. Keep it up!!

The Newest Pair...

Ella got her ears pierced a while back. We kept the original pair in for a number of weeks. The jewelry store recommended six weeks. Hmmmm. I should have ignored that. Six weeks later I took out the earrings. She proceeded to change earrings 30 times that day. No joke. Then, she refused to sleep in a pair. The next morning her ears were swollen and red and pussy. It was awful!!! I had to sterilize a needle, push chunks of puss through the holes, and put a pair of my expensive studs in. The doctoring continued for days on end. Peroxide. Neosporin. Hollering on Ella's part. Then, everything was fine. After another three weeks, I decided to let her try changing her earrings again. My mother-in-law bought this pair for her.

After that first debacle, she learned her lesson. There have been no issues since. Praise the Lord!!!

If I Have to Have One...

If I'm going to have a beer, I'm going to have a Corona 95% of the time. It was the first beer I ever had. So when I have a beer, I get nostalgic and bust out a Corona.

I am Officially 'That' Parent...

My sweet Ella will just about try anything once. Some things, she tries and wants to keep doing. Fishing? She loves to go fishing. Yes, I let her fish on the pier in her pajamas.

She even loves to worm her own hook.

Seriously, the child amazes me. What seven year old girl does this by choice? HA!

She even got a little catfish.

If you're in need of a good fish fry, just let Ella know. She'll head down to the river and catch some dinner for you.

She Looks So Grown Up These Days....

When did it become ok for my oldest baby to look half grown? Time passes way too fast once you have children.

What a Girl Wants...

When it comes to fireworks, kids love the big bang. The more sparkles and the higher they go the better. My children are no exception to this rule. At this point though, I should admit that my children love one other thing more than a big, bad bang.

Snap and Pop!!! What child doesn't love to take a handful and throw them at the feet of a sibling? Did I type that in black and white? It's true. If you had a big brother, you know that you took a few of these to the toe. :)

Rolling in the Grass...

My oldest is almost 12. BUT...

You're never too old to roll in the grass and have fun.

Low Country, Frogmore, Mud Shrimp...Call It What You Want...

We love seafood at the Enabling Household. Shrimp, crab, fish, you name it, we eat it. For July 4th we had a big ole seafood boil. Yumminess abounds.

MMMMM. Just try not to eat your weight in shrimp, crab, potatoes, and corn. DEEEELISHHHH!

This Is the Part Where I Laugh at Someone Else...

Let me preface this story by admitting that the laughs I am about to have at someone else's expense are probably rude and inappropriate. That being said....

These guys boated past the pier the other day. They pulled up next to this driftwood and proceeded to shoot fireworks off the wood. I couldn't help but laugh. The fact that they were obviously intoxicated made it even funnier because they were hooting and hollering something fierce.

Notice how there are so many men on this flat bottomed boat that they are practically swimming in the Elk.

It just doesn't get anymore redneck, back woods Alabama than this.

His Curly Hair...

Even though we had his hair cut, the curls are still trying to make an appearance. Oh sweet curls. How I love them so....

Even Nephew Is Sick of It...

My camera is practically attached to my body. I photograph everything my children do. I know they get tired of it.

Ridiculously Sweet...In More Ways Than One...

Ella is so sweet with Lacey. She tries really hard to help keep an eye on her.

Ella also likes to feed Lacey ice cream, or as Lacey says, "cream." It is so sweet! Lacey will come in a room and ask for cream. Who could say no to that?
