Awkward Family Photos...
Do you ever go to Awkward Family Photos? I check that site out from time to time and just about lose it I laugh so hard. At the Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddler's Convention, I was snapping pictures of my adorable kids when I realized that I had an awkward family photo on my hands. Layton being adorable in the bleachers.....

So Cool...
Why Were My Children in a SCUD Launcher?...
Allowing your children to play in a Scud Missile launcher might be considered a dangerous idea. Pausing to take their picture may seem even more loony. Believe me. I took a very sincere pause before deciding to post these pictures to the blog. I just had to share why we had this opportunity. This blog is also how I scrapbook our lives, and this event/opportunity is one we may not have again.
I've never really been sure of what my husband does for a living. Obviously, I know he's an electrical engineer, and I know that he can do all kinds of amazing math. BUT, I've never known where he works or what he does. I'm still not sure what he does, but I have seen his office now! This is only the second time I have ever seen where he works. The other time was when he worked for a different company and had a non-classified location I could visit.
The company he works for contracts a group to a certain project that is in a super nice facility that was open to the public for the first time as part of its ribbon cutting. The kids and I couldn't miss the chance to take our non-security-clearanced selves to his work-site! In all honesty, this may never happen again.

There were bouncy houses for the kids and a car show and loud music. There were also ballistic missiles. :) Guess what my three liked the best? :)
Pictures were allowed outside the building, but I couldn't take the camera in. Or my cell phone. :)
A few days later I was talking to a friend who works in the same building. She asked me if Jay was on one of two floors. I confirmed one of the floors, and she said she had suspected that all along because that's where all the really smart guys are kept. :) It made my heart smile.

Little Boxes...Not the Kind on the Hillside...
Here's a little box. It is not made out of ticky tacky, but it looks just the same as all the other little, white boxes.
This is a little box. It looks the same.
This is a little box. It is not just the same. Even though it went to the university, this box is not just the same.
Let me ask you this. Are you a little box just the same? Or are you a little box with flair? There is a reason I ask. In fact, I am thinking of creating a poll to help aid with my research.

Awwww, It Smiled...

Her smile may need a little bit of work. I took her to an orthodontist appointment, but neither one of us got the warm fuzzies from him. I think we'll get a consult with another orthodontist. She seems to think she'd rather wait another year or two and get Invisalign instead of traditional braces. Have any of you had that? Good decision? Bad? I need some input. :)

Did I Mention I Love Personalized Items?...

I am completely obsessed with it. I love the tabs. I love the pockets. I love the fact that I was able to upload a picture of my family taken by the talented Carla and have it used on my planner. Loves it!!!! :)

Multi-Tasking...
I am someone who multitasks on a regular basis. I rarely sit or stand with only one thing going on. I may sit and watch TV while I fold laundry, or cook dinner while replying to emails, or iron clothes while also explaining compound subjects and predicates to Ella. Sometimes I will be on the landline (phone balanced precariously between my ear and shoulder) while texting with one hand on my cell phone while cooking dinner with the other hand. Maybe I should slow down and do one thing at a time. Worry less about efficiency and more about setting a good example for my children. :)
What do you think?

What to Do When the Rooster Crows...
After the rooster crows, there is nothing left to do but play with the chickens. :) Hadley loves the chickens at the farm. Ella was a little slow to warm up to the chickens.
Layton definitely didn't want to hold a chicken. He jumped back from the chicken Hadley was holding. After getting warmed up to the little critter, Ella couldn't get enough. She sat and held this chicken for quite some time. Of course she just had to have a photo op with the little booger.
