Alexander Supertramp...

Christopher McCandless wandered into the Alaskan wilderness without a compass, map, or enough food to sustain his life. He died in 1992 presumably of starvation.
Sean Penn directed a movie about Christopher's life and death a couple of years ago. I would recommend watching Into the Wild. It's not an easy view. It's not something that will give you the warm fuzzies. It will provoke thought though.

I insist that any movie I watch give me the warm fuzzies.
Did you read about that homeless guy who is intentionally homeless and living in a cave? I read about it in Men's Health or some other completely random magazine. He scavenges food out of garbage cans and poops in coffee cans or something. He basically just said the hustle and bustle of "real life" was too much for him and he wants to make a statement.
