Tick Tock...
Layton's favorite color is orange. This is not new news to longtime followers. I suspect he is a closet Tennessee fan. A while back he wanted a clock for his bedroom. Of course, he picked an orange one.

They Don't Have Co-Ed Bathrooms...
I am an accountant. True story. I have spent the majority of my career with one firm. We had a co-ed bathroom, which I had to clean...don't get me started on that. Anyways, not too long ago, I decided it was time to make a change. I needed to move to a new job with another firm.
They have separate restrooms for the ladies and the gentlemen.
My new supervisor was a little curious why this shocked me.
So, I've got to ask. How many of you have co-ed restrooms at your place of employment? Did you mind it? Was it a little on the creepy side?
Anyone?

Whirly Gig...
At the carnival there was one ride that went round and round and upside down and all around. The hubs wanted to ride it. Hadley got on with him. They went up.
They went over. They went upside down.
Side note: when it was upside down, we could hear change and keys hitting the metal platform underneath it. Layton and Ella were hooting something fierce when the money hit the ground.
And then they started to come down. I loved the fact that they were looking at each other right when the ride ended. It was a sweet moment.
What Do I Have in Common with Big Foot?...
I am the Big Foot of my blog. The Loch Ness Monster of The Enabler and Her Codependents. Rarely seen or photographed but my existence is rumored to be true. Here I am. Double chin and all.

I've never been one of those "beautiful girls" and have never had much self confidence about my appearance, so I normally avoid being on this side of the camera at all times. I am going to make more of an effort to be in more pictures though. I'm really not setting a good example for the little ones by being so ashamed of my own face. It's time to make a change.

I'm Probably Not a Good Role Model...
Jump, Jump...
To some people swimming lessons are a waste of time and money. The hubs never had swimming lessons as a child, but he taught himself to swim. My mother didn't have swimming lessons either; she couldn't swim her way out of a bathtub. I think it mostly depends on the person as to whether or not swimming is easy to learn. I did learn to swim as a child from a lovely lady who lived across town, and I just thought it would be a good idea for my children to have swimming lessons. Soooo, they have each had a week of lessons every Summer for years. The best part about it is seeing them become so confident in the water. Just watch little Layton jump in the pool!
On your mark...
Get Set...
Go...Go...
Go....Go...You can do it...
He Went...
Splish...
Splash....

Doesn't that look like fun!?!?!?!?!
Let me just go ahead and add that when I was a child and my family went to the beach, I regularly swam out to the sand bar. Mostly it was after doing or saying something obnoxious. Even as a child, I realized that if I got deep enough in the water, my mother couldn't get me to spank me for whatever heinous thing I had just done to my baby sister. The moral of the story is don't let your children develop more life skills than you.

There Is a Strange Feeling Inside...
It is the feeling of change. I do not cope well with change. This is a simple truth about me. I like things to stay the same for as long as possible. I like having a routine and knowing what is going to happen the next few days. Lately though, things have not been routine for me at all. Change is everywhere all around me. AND, amazingly enough, I am enjoying this season of change. :)
My Nephew is Pretty...
To me Nephew Nathan is so pretty. He's just pretty. Not cute. Not handsome. He's flat out pretty.
