Homework...
I love to work from home. I feel like I get so much more done when I can juggle the children and the office from one location. It would be great to work from home one day a week. I use this tote I got from a Thirty-One party ages ago to carry my laptop and files in between home and the office when I do have the opportunity to work from home.

The Cave...
When you are an unbelievable softy, you will cave and buy your child an overpriced pair of shoes she has been begging for.
You will try to justify the overpriced pair of shoes by telling yourself....They give a pair to a child in need because of this purchase; I'm helping barefoot children all over the world.
You will help your child look on the porch for said shoes everyday until the package finally arrives.

You will spend 45 minutes checking out washing tips for the aforementioned over priced shoes to make sure you don't fade them after one trip to the playground got them nasty. One trip.
You will look at precious feet inside of the over priced shoes and not feel one bit of buyer's remorse because those sweet feet are so happy.
You might even considering going barefoot on April 10.
Random Thoughts and Observations...
-If you use the word sequence instead of sequins, I might actually laugh at you. Out loud. Here's the thing. I follow this one celebrity (on twitter) who is supposedly "fashion forward." She was tweeting her opinions of the dresses on the red carpet at the Oscars. She kept using sequence. I was half tempted to reply...You do realize that the word is sequins not sequence, right? Girlfriend may know how to put together a nice outfit, but...
-If you have seen my car lately, I apologize for the terrible mess. I also apologize for the fact that there is a 3 inch layer of scum and grime on the outside of it. I really should have the Volv-Ro washed and vacuumed soon. Maybe on my lunch date one day this week....
-I have always wanted to be called for jury duty. I have never once been called. J has been called more than once. I was so jealous. He was that guy in the back of the room calculating his statistical odds of being chosen the whole time. If I ever did get called for jury duty, it would be my luck that it would be a media sensation type of trial, and I'd be sequestered for six months in a bad hotel.
-I have a window in my office. This is fantastic. I didn't have one at my old job.
-My breath is rank. I ate some tomato, cucumber salad stuff (some call it tomato cucumber vinaigrette, others call it fire and ice salad), and I am smelling razzy.
-Hadley's headphones are broken. I'm not sure how she broke them, but she did. In 12 year old girl world, this is a major ordeal.
-There may or may not be hot dog funk on my shirt right now. Ewww.
-Layton accused a bunny rabbit of being able to kill him. Then, he told Carla to "take one more picture." He also told Ella to "focus on what you're doing" when it was her turn to hold the bunny. Everyone in the room was slightly amused by his use of the phrase. I was slightly embarrassed.
-Hadley went to a baby shower this past weekend for her twirling coach. You should have seen her trying to pick out a present; she was fantastically uninterested in baby products.
-Every time I use the word embarrassed, I think of a young man named Clint. We went to Mexico together many moons ago. This is probably a TMI story, but you're going to read it anyway. This other gal whose name I will withhold had to go in the worst way. Seeing as how we were stuck in traffic beside a field, she got out of the van to go. Another gal accompanied her with a blanket to hold up for privacy. The blanket wasn't held low enough though, and we could all see her bare ass sticking out. Someone in the van made the comment that she would be so embarrassed. Clint replied, "Well she may not be the em, but she sure is the rest of it." It was one of those moments that made me laugh ridiculously hard, and I have never forgotten the way he said it with his southern drawl. Clint, if you happen to ever read my blog, that was the funniest moment of the trip for me.
-Speaking of Mexico. I loved every moment I spent there. The people were so kind and joyous even though they had nothing. I would love to go back, but with three children it isn't feasible for me to jaunt off to Mexico to build houses in the Summer. Actually, I would love to take all three of my children on a trip like that. They are so accustomed to the instant gratification of life these days that I think it would be a life changing experience. It was life changing for me each and every time, but the first time was definitely the most moving. I was young and had seen pictures, but pictures did not prepare me for the poverty I witnessed. Even now, 17 years later, the images are so vivid in my mind.
-I am on Pinterest, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't get into it. If you're not on Pinterest and need an invite, hit me with an email. I'll send you one. I just won't pin much. :)
-I still haven't had a hair cut. Haven't even scheduled one. I'll get around to it eventually.
-I caved and bought Ella a pair of Tom's. When I told her that I ordered them, her whole body squealed with joy. She checked for a package everyday after that even though I told her I was tracking the package and knew when it would arrive. There was no stopping her.

Sleepy, Strepy, Boy...

Days and days of medicine to go though. He can't have regular liquid antibiotics because of his situation with corn. Dang corn syrup is in everything! So, he has some custom chewable antibiotics. He has to take them for two weeks though, so even after he feels better, the drugs continue. I think that is the most frustrating thing about his condition. There isn't any Tylenol or Motrin that he can take to bring down his fever. We have the option to give him suppositories, but come on man, that's just adding insult to injury. I try to use other methods of keeping his fever down when he does get sick. Lots of liquids. Tepid bath. That sort of thing. Sorry to keep bringing up his strep throat. It was just a major ordeal, that's all. If I had to suffer through it; all of you have to suffer through me rehashing it. Ha!!
Ball...
In the South, ball is big. It doesn't matter what kind. Soccer, baseball, basketball, football. It's all called ball, and everyone plays ball. Layton has been begging to play soccer. Ella came around and decided she would also play soccer instead of softball, so that it would be easier for me to get them to and from practice. I almost teared up when she told me that. She was so concerned about me having enough time to get everyone to their activities that she chose her backup sport.

This...
And This...
Yes, things far more important that catching up the blog have been going on the last few days.

Strep Throat and Fever...
For the first time in a long time, the blog went without a post yesterday.
Probably because I would have blogged yesterday but never got around to it. Layton has had strep throat, and Ella had a fever virus. I've been occupied with their needs and didn't get around to my semi-monthly scheduling of posts.
They are both feeling well now though. I will get some more posts going soon.

What Is Hadley Up To?....

She's been on her computer a lot. She plays a whole bunch of games. Howrse. Wajas. I think those are right. She has tried to show me, but I'm just not much of a game person. She also spends a lot of time drawing on her computer. She got a graphics tablet for her birthday and loves using it to make pictures of horses. It's so cute. Oh that Hadley. She is something else.

Random Thoughts and Observations...
-I love the show Pretty Little Liars. It is so cheese-tastic. I like to sign emails and texts with...A... just to see if anyone else watches and gets it. Please don't mock me for my choice of mindless TV, and at least my name starts with the right letter for this prank.
-I'm also very excited that I finally used my Erin Condren gift card that my sister-in-law gave me for Christmas. It was a big decision to decide what to use it on! Ha!! I picked out a great piece that will come in super handy in the kitchen.
-Have you ever had so much to do that you just feel like your whole world is spiraling out of control? I've been feeling that way lately. Work is busy. The kids are keeping me busy. I just need a few days to catch my breath. Here lately, I've only been breathing on Sundays. One day a week just isn't enough.
-Does anyone want to go to the grocery store for me?
-I think people who block people (with the exception of stalkers and ex-husbands) on twitter are passive aggressive. And kind of silly too. This one chick I follow is constantly blocking people because they tweet hashtags she doesn't like. Can I just ask? Does it really bother these people to get blocked by her? I doubt it. I guess it makes her feel better to block people. I've been blocked by a few people. One was trying to piss me off. He didn't realize that I went out to celebrate that night. Grow a set, dude.
-Read Across America Week is approaching...or it may have already happened...not sure when I will get around to publishing this...I love this particular week of school because each day is filled with dress up and books.
-Hadley will stay in bed until I absolutely drag her out of it. To be honest, it is completely annoying. Some Saturdays are brutal trying to get the family out of the house for lunch because H-Dizzy still isn't awake.
-There is nothing more gut wrenching that catching up to live TV on Tivo. Honestly. I watched a show over the weekend and caught up. There was no way to fast forward through the commercials. I thought I might actually fit over it.
-There are few things sexier than an IRS audit. That is a total lie. On days when I have to deal with an audit, I actually comb my hair and brush my teeth. Both. I also have been known to wear extra deodorant.
-I am starting to get pretty excited about going to Washington DC in April. I think it will be a lot of fun!!
-I want to have a really big tweet up. That's a meet up for all of my tweethearts. I would love to get as many as possible in one location for fun and food. The odds of that happening are small though. :) Maybe I will organize one after tax season ends. Would that not be so much fun?? We could all meet somewhere exotic. Like Eppes. That was supposed to be a joke.
-I've been thinking about Easter baskets for the codependents. They have plain baskets with colored, paper straw. I'm thinking of getting them something a little cutesy this year....or making something...I'm thinking a galvanized bucket of some kind with their initials on them. The handles are the only thing tripping me up. Buckets do not have cozy handles, and I want cozy handles because I plan on making them hunt eggs until they pass out.
-I'm starving.
